The useful comparison is not just the price of one tub of gochujang. Check the product variant, package size, seller, delivery charge, and whether chilled food can actually reach your address. This is a shopping checklist, not a current three-store price test.

- Gochujang = fermented red pepper paste, labeled 고추장. Check heat level and size. Not ssamjang (쌈장) or vinegared cho-gochujang. Tub color is not a reliable product or heat code.
- Gochugaru = flakes, says 고춧가루, “fine” or “coarse.” Choose the grind requested by your recipe; do not assume every listing has the same grind or heat.
- Doenjang = Korean soybean paste, labeled 된장. Check the name and ingredients rather than tub color. Japanese miso is a different product.
