K-Food Explained (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operated by Jina Moon respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we protect it. Contact: [email protected]

Summary: We only collect what we need to run the site (analytics, comments, newsletter). We never sell your data. You can ask us to delete it anytime at [email protected].

1. Information we collect

1.1 You give us

  • Contact: name, email when you email us or use the contact form.
  • Newsletter: email if you subscribe to our checklist/newsletter (Beehiiv/Mailchimp).
  • Comments: name, email, comment content if you comment.

1.2 Collected automatically

  • Cookies & similar: see §5. We use cookies for analytics, ads, and to remember preferences.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4 via Google Site Kit — IP (anonymized), device, browser, pages visited, time on site. IP anonymization is enabled.
  • Server logs: Cloudflare and our host (LiteSpeed) log IP, user-agent, requested URL for security and performance.

2. How we use it

  • To reply to your questions and send the pantry checklist.
  • To improve content (which guides are helpful, which links are broken).
  • To show relevant ads via Google AdSense (see §4).
  • To prevent spam and secure the site.

We do not sell your personal data.

3. Legal basis (EEA/UK visitors)

We process data on: consent (newsletter, cookies), legitimate interest (analytics, security), and contract (replying to your inquiry).

4. Advertising & affiliates

  • Google AdSense: Google uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to show personalized and non-personalized ads. You can opt out at adssettings.google.com and aboutads.info/choices.
  • Amazon Associates: As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon may use cookies to track referrals. See Amazon’s Privacy Notice.
  • Other affiliates (H Mart, Weee! etc.): We may earn a commission when you buy via our links, at no extra cost to you.

5. Cookies

We use:

  • Necessary: Cloudflare security, WordPress login, LiteSpeed Cache.
  • Analytics: _ga, _gid (Google Analytics).
  • Ads: Google AdSense cookies (personalized ads only with consent where required).

You can control cookies in your browser. In the EEA/UK we show a consent banner — you can change your choice anytime via the cookie settings link in the footer.

6. Sharing

We share data only with service providers needed to run the site:

  • Google (Analytics, AdSense), Cloudflare (security/CDN), our host, newsletter provider, and Rank Math (SEO). All process data per their privacy policies.

7. Data retention

  • Contact emails: until you ask us to delete.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics: 14 months (Google default).

8. Your rights

Depending on your location (GDPR, CCPA) you have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing. Email [email protected] to exercise them. California residents: we do not sell/share personal information.

9. International transfers

Our site is operated from the US and uses US-based providers (Google, Cloudflare). Your data may be processed in the US.
